Meeting Schedule Meetings are usually held the third Thursday of every month at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood (The Grant Campus) in the Captree Building, Room #114 from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.   Next Meeting When: Thursday, May 15th, 2008 at 7:00pm Location: Suffolk Community College, Grant Campus, Wicks Road, just south of the LIE, Brentwood Program: Mike Bottini, our guest speaker, will be talking about the results of his Otter survey, future research on the species and how paddlers can get involved. He will also talk about his book, Exploring East End Waters, written in 2005. The book lists more than 35 places to paddle on the East End of Long Island.   Additional 2007-08 Meeting Dates Thursday, June 19th, 7:00 p.m. at Suffolk Community College, Grant Campus, Brentwood. Paula Valentine, Public Affairs Specialist for the Nation Parks Service, will present a program about the current resources and facilities within Fire Island National Seashore, and the opportunity to help plan for its future through a new General Management Plan. For members who want to see the Fire Island National Sea Shore web site they can visit www.nps.gov/fiis. Thursday, July 17th, 7:00 p.m. at Suffolk Community College, Grant Campus, Brentwood. The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will present a seminar on the proper use of hand held GPS devices, VHF radios and general boating safety as it pertains to kayakers. This will be an informative meeting for new and old club members alike. Please mark your calendars.
